Sadly we must close down our shelter. The facility is very old and out dated. We have ongoing septic problems. There is no heat. Last winter the dog survived the cold winter on straw. Now we have noticed major foundation problems. The back of the shelter is literally cracked and starting to crumble. It would take major amounts of money to do any repairs, but here is the problem...The property and shelter is only leased to us. We cannot afford to put hard earned money into the property that can be relinquished at any time. We have 17 dogs up there now. From the very young to the very old. From 20 pounds to over 70 pounds, but all very good dogs in dyer need of a second chance at a life. If you have a place for just one more, or another rescue group that could squeeze in one or two. We here at the Animal Rescue League would be eternally grateful, as well as our furry children. We will never stop rescuing. We just have to redirect our efforts!
